Healthcare Focus Area

The Healthcare Focus Area is a joint effort between SALC and the Hospital Council of Southern Arizona (HCSA).  SALC and HCSA work together to address critical issues impacting the region's healthcare and use the strength of our healthcare community as an assett for building our economy and quality of life.  Co-chairs are Bruce Beach and Paul Kappelman.

SALC and HCSA support the Southern Arizona Health Information Exchange (SAHIE) in efforts to design and implement a functional health information exchange in the Tucson region.

SALC endorses and monitors HCSA's coordination of nursing and allied health careers training, monitoring the Arizona state budget and federal proposals that may have an impact on healthcare, and hospital outreach activities.
