About SALC

The Southern Arizona Leadership Council is an organization of business leaders, but it is not simply a business organization. It is a community organization.

Central to SALC's operations is the belief that a successful community relies and builds upon all of its resources - civic leaders, government officials, engaged citizens and business officials. Consequently, SALC seeks a wide range of community partners with whom to collaborate as its members work to focus the community's abilities and resources on those priorities and actions that will keep our region strong and enhance the quality of life for all Tucson residents.

This is more than enlightened self-interest, more than the belief that a healthy community invariably will have a healthy economy. It is a willing and eager acceptance of shared responsibility for creating an economically vibrant region in which to live and work with every guarantee of excellence and recreation in a setting that preserves our unique environment and culture.

Our Mission

The Southern Arizona Leadership Council's mission is to improve the greater Tucson area and the State of Arizona by bringing together resources and leadership to enhance the economic climate and the quality of life in our community, and attract and retain high quality, high wage jobs. The Southern Arizona Leadership Council, working through its focus areas and their respective members, interacts with community organizations interested in the primary objectives identified annually by the Council. A conscious effort is made by the Council to include in that process leaders representing the various segments of the community.
